CIPCE partners with school districts, neighborhood youth organizations, schools of education and teachers throughout the Capital Region to place RPI student mentors into after school enrichment activities for students ages 8-14. Programs include Animation & Gaming, LEGO® Robotics, FIRST LEGO League® (FLL) clubs and other technology initiatives.
Thanks to outreach efforts sponsored by various departments on RPI campus, CIPCE mentors participate in a variety of spring outreach weekends designed to inspire visiting elementary, middle School and high school students to consider STEM fields.
Our Summer Engineering Academies, both on and off campus, include programs such as Animation & Gaming with Scratch, Arduino, JrLEGO® Robotics, LEGO® NXT, Advanced LEGO® NXT and VEX Robotics. Participants design, plan, construct and reconstruct in a project-based, student-centered learning environment that fosters inquiry, innovation and critical thinking.
